A note from the founder and CEO of ALICE Technologies, René Morkos

René reflects on 2022's challenges and accomplishments in this blog post.

As 2022 comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to reflect on this year’s challenges, achievements and milestones that we, as an industry, and a team, have overcome.

The construction industry is on the cusp of a digital transformation and the industry’s inspiring workforce continues to build communities, strengthen the economy – and at the same time, foster innovation – thus playing a critical role in the industry’s growth and development.

2022 was an extraordinary year for us at ALICE Technologies and we could not have had such success without the commitment, dedication and support of our customers and partners who helped to shape ALICE into the solution it is today.

One of our biggest milestone achievements this year was raising our $30M series B financing round, which helps to fuel and accelerate our global growth, continued product innovation, and market expansion. The ALICE team has now grown two-fold with employees based in the United States, Czech Republic, India, Canada and France, amplifying our ability to support capital projects around the world. This year also extended and cemented our partnership with leading global contractors, namely: Align JV (a joint venture including Bouygues Travaux Publics, Sir Robert McAlpine, and VolkerFitzpatrick), Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Bouygues Travaux Publics, Takenaka Corporation and Shimizu Corporation.

Earlier this quarter, ALICE + Align JV received the prestigious British Construction Industry Award for our optimization work on the Colne Valley Viaduct of the UK’s largest rail project to date: the $170B High-Speed rail project, HS2. In case you haven’t watched it - here is the video that describes our partnership work with Align JV, from the challenges to the outcomes of implementing ALICE on the HS2 project.

Finally, we’re on a mission to reduce the cost of construction globally with ALICE, the world’s only construction optioneering platform powered by generative scheduling technology. As we strive to bring this transformative technology to the industry as an indispensable standard, McKinsey & Company has introduced generative scheduling technology to its Operations Practice clients – a testament to the outset of the industry’s transitioning paradigm shift.

We are committed to serving the industry as a trusted innovation partner.

Keep building!
