Reflecting on 2024

This has been an incredible year for ALICE Technologies. We released ALICE Core, doubled revenue, and are seeing more traction than ever before.

René reflects on 2024's challenges and accomplishments in this blog post.

A few days ago, I visited several clients and their construction projects in Europe, which included critical infrastructure projects, industrial facilities and sprawling data centers. Walking through these sites, meeting the people involved on the project, seeing the work in progress and understanding the technology driving it all was nothing short of humbling and inspiring. It gave me a lot to think about and reflect on.

I saw numerous tools at work: reality capture solutions, progress tracking, smart sensors monitoring movement on-site, productivity platforms—you name it. The sheer concentration of innovation per square unit on these projects truly puts things into perspective.

For years, the construction industry was defined by unstructured and siloed data, often leading to inefficiencies and fragmentation. However, that narrative is changing. Today, a focus on interoperability is driving a convergence within the industry. The wave of digitization, optimization, and interoperability that revolutionized industries like manufacturing is now reshaping construction.

And at the center of this transformation, however, isn’t the technology—it’s the people.

ALICE Core: Built by the Industry

At ALICE Technologies, one of the principles we firmly believe in is that our product, features and improvements must be driven by our customers, partners and industry stakeholders.

Earlier this year, we launched ALICE Core based on our customers' feedback calling for increased interoperability with other solutions. ALICE Core was designed with one simple idea in mind: make it easy for teams to start optimizing their projects without disrupting their existing workflows. Clients can now ingest an existing P6 or MSP schedule and directly optimize it.

We then took this a step further by releasing the ‘Optimization Objectives’ feature, which allows users to optimize their projects based on what matters to them the most.

The response to these updates has been phenomenal—we doubled revenue this year, with more projects, more clients, and the strongest market traction we’ve ever seen.

The Paradigm Shift: Generative Scheduling

This year, I’ve also seen something I wasn’t sure we’d see so soon as an industry—the openness to change. More planners and schedulers are adopting generative scheduling technology, recognizing it as more than just a tool. They’re beginning to understand the need for building flexibility into schedules to better adapt to changing requirements.

We’re excited to drive this adoption forward as more teams and stakeholders recognize the potential of AI to refine project delivery.

Global Expansion and Impact

We also expanded our global reach to new markets in 2024, with key partnerships like Andrade Gutierrez, one of South America’s largest companies, and our expansion into APAC through our partner program with Cranborne.

Additionally, one of the year’s most notable highlights was the use of ALICE by Implenia on the Windworks Infrastructure floating offshore wind farm. This partnership not only delivered exceptional project outcomes but also earned us four prestigious industry awards and widespread recognition.

Looking Ahead: 2025 and Beyond

None of this progress would be possible without the people, which includes our stellar team at ALICE, our clients and our partners—all of whom share our vision and passion for transforming construction. I’m constantly inspired by their hard work, dedication and belief in what we’re building.

This year has been remarkable. That’s not to say the journey has been without its share of challenges: it has required tough decisions to get to where we are today.

I’m excited about what’s ahead as we move into 2025.

We have big plans, bold ideas, and, most importantly, the people to make them happen. We’ve got some exciting innovations coming soon to ALICE, stay tuned.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Here’s to 2025! 🚀
