Introducing Schedule Sync

Smarter, Faster Scheduling Synchronization for Real-Time Project Optimization

Delays, scope changes, and evolving on-site conditions are the reality of construction, which means project teams need tools that adapt to change seamlessly. Schedule updates - whether due to scope changes, added detail, or progress adjustments - can disrupt workflows and delay delivery. And keeping all of this updated and aligned in ALICE shouldn't mean manual rework and lost optimizations.

That’s why we’re introducing Schedule Sync, a powerful new feature in ALICE that lets you merge schedule updates effortlessly—from bidding to execution—without losing prior optimizations.

Why It Matters:

  • Optimize as You Go: Adapt schedules dynamically to evolving project realities
  • Save Time and Reduce Rework: Minimize rework by automating scope merging.
  • Enhanced Collaboration: Enable teams to stay aligned through unified schedules updates and optimization strategies

For Schedulers

Schedulers play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of construction schedules. With Schedule Sync, they can:

  • Easily incorporate updated preconstruction schedules, importing updated schedules into ALICE without needing to redo prior optimizations.
  • Merge schedules from multiple sources, consolidating data from various teams or phases into one cohesive plan.
  • Leverage resource pools and parameterizations, maintaining consistent resource data and parameterizations across schedules.

Feature in Action: During preconstruction, a scheduler imports an updated schedule into ALICE. Using Schedule Sync, they seamlessly merge overlapping scopes and retain prior parameterizations for faster iterations and improved collaboration.

For Project Managers

Project managers oversee execution and ensure that schedules align with real-time realities. Schedule Sync empowers them to:

  • Adapt optimization strategies by importing progressed schedules to reflect real-time updates, delays, or out-of-sequence work.
  • Use parameterized data to align new schedules with prior parameterization settings, enabling confident decision-making during execution.
  • Stay on track with optioneering, applying prior optimization strategies to updated schedules for ongoing project improvements.

Feature in Action: A project manager imports a progressed schedule mid-project. Delays and completed tasks are reflected in the new version, and ALICE’s tools re-optimize based on the latest data, ensuring the project stays aligned with current realities.

Additionally, this new feature provides project owners with a high-level, programmatic view of schedules to manage resources and oversee progress effectively.

How It Works

Using this feature is intuitive and efficient:

  1. Import Updates: Upload your updated schedule into ALICE, parameterized or unparameterized.
  2. Select a Reference Plan: Choose an existing plan in ALICE to copy its parameterization settings, such as rules for logic removal, resource loading, crew range application, and custom property assignments.
  3. Smart Sync: ALICE automatically merges overlapping scopes, reducing the need for redundant work.
  4. Review and Modify: Users can access a comprehensive change log and modify updates using default merge strategies as needed.

Dynamic Optimization Gives Construction Teams the Competitive Edge

Schedule Sync transforms construction planning and scheduling in ALICE, allowing teams to stay agile, minimize rework, and maintain optimized plans as the project progresses.
